Cross Country Blog: Getting to Know Captain Nathan Fisher

Comments
As he enters his final year of cross-country, Nathan Fisher (Sr.) has his sights set on leading one of the most successful teams in recent memory. A math major, albeit one who fondly prefers rounding and requires a calculator to add his weekly mileage, Fisher understands the importance of becoming a consistently low-stick performer for the team on race-day. Nevertheless, having been a varsity member of the team who beat Navy at home in last year's "Star" meet, the prospect of escalating the culture of winning to the next level and becoming a contender within the extremely competitive Northeast Region weighs more heavily on his mind. That's not all that will trouble the mind of the generally laid-back, 4:09-miler this year. In addition to his own running duties and keeping everyone focused on the minute details that make all the difference come championship season, Fisher's primary concerns are: uniform corrections, enforcing Taylor Swift Tuesdays on the sound system in the locker-room, honing already impressive dance-skills, checking out his calves and three-peating as champion of the prestigious men's distance fantasy-football league. Whether on the cross-country course, crushing Air Assault ruck-marches or working as an intern for the New York Yankees over the summer, Fisher always abides by Wedding Crashers Rule #71: "No excuses, play like a champion!"
